The Romans did have a love of gambling. However, that does not prove the theory that they invented 21. Also, Blackjack is based on the French deck that slot online has four suits and 52 cards. This design was based on other decks popular in Renaissance Europe. If the Romans did play a version of 21, it would have been vastly different than the one we play today. There are plenty of other theories about the origin of Blackjack. Unfortunately, we may never know who truly invented Blackjack. However, the French seem like the most likely innovators. Blackjack is similar to other card games popular in France during the 1700s. For instance, Ferme and Chemin de Fer were both popular games that could have been precursors to Blackjack.
