North West Ambulance Service paramedics reported the attack at around 4.25pm yesterday (October 3). The woman in her 60s was pronounced dead at the scene and her relatives have been told.Police have launched an investigation and a cordon is in place at the scene. More than a dozen police cars, three ambulance vehicles and a fire engine were pictured in the area of St Brigids Crescent and Silvester Street in Liverpool. Forensics officers arrived at the scene around two hours later and were seen entering the home and taking pictures outside. Eyewitnesses told the ECHO that "at least two dogs" were involved in the attack and another said she "heard screams" from the direction of the home after 4pm. She said: "My husband came home at about 4pm and I heard a woman's screams at some point after that. When I heard what happened I was shocked.A man, who asked not to be named said: "Obviously it's sad isn't it, a woman has been mauled to death by the dogs." People in the area spoke of their shock, sadness and worry following the incident, which happened near a park with a children's play area. A woman who lives in the area, said: “It’s just so awful, you can’t imagine how much the family are hurting right now."Since the news of the woman's death was reported, hundreds of people took to social media to pay tribute to the woman and send well wishes to her family. Rachel Flood said: "So sad such a lovely woman. RIP thinking of all her family x" Tricia Massey said: "Breaks my heart every time I hear anything like this. Brings back horrible memories. Sending love to her family and friends xxx" Ann Gibney said: "So so sad RIP beautiful. Absolutely devastated thinking of all your lovely family."
