The customer is always right. Every business owner knows this simple, direct phrase. But what does it mean? In short, it means that you should bend over backwards to make your clients happy. Study after study has shown that customers only remain loyal if they have a pleasant shopping experience. Shoppers are even willing to pay a bit more at the register if they are treated like a valued customer. Now, what could be more insulting to a customer than refusing their preferred method of payment?
We also know that customers spend an average of twenty dollars more when they use credit compared to cash. Why is this? Perhaps it's because we humans adore instant gratification. We are willing to sacrifice in the future if we can enjoy something in the present. Whatever the reason, the numbers don't lie...consumers prefer plastic and when they use it, they spend more.
