New World has made such an effort to keep inflation under control

When we discussed the game's fledgling economy on the MassivelyOP New World roundtable podcast a couple of weeks ago, we speculated aloud about whether Buy Cheap New World Coins would ever recover and be able to escape the oversupply problem that was causing the trading posts to become a wasteland. As it turns out, the polar opposite has occurred over the course of the last several months. It has been brought to our attention that there is a shortage of currency supply, rather than an oversupply of goods and materials, as has been suggested on Reddit and the Player Auctions blog. This is in contrast to the inflation that we have seen in most other MMORPGs, which we have seen in the past.
Because Amazon has made such an effort to keep inflation under control, some players believe that the company has created an excessive number of drains for the relatively small amount of currency that is being pumped into the game. Games typically have too few faucets for the number of faucets that game developers are unable to avoid including in their games. Those who play in New World are strapped for cash, as the game does not reward much currency for PvE activities, but instead constantly demands that they pay enormous fees for everything from crafting to housing, as well as taxes on the land they inhabit. A barter economy appears to have developed on some servers, as evidenced by the numerous empty trading posts that have appeared from town to town in the game's early stages. It has become more affordable to purchase new items than it has become to repair old ones, making crafting obsolete – and the risk of wear and tear on the items you already own prohibitively expensive, especially if your primary activity in the game is something that does not generate much cash, such as PvP. Do you have any of the same symptoms on your Cheap new world gold server as you do on your old one? Despite the fact that Amazon's New World MMO has only been available for a little over two weeks, the game is already experiencing technical difficulties. Additionally, outside of the game, Amazon has been forced to backtrack on previous promises regarding server transfers, claiming that it is unable to provide them across regions or to fully loaded servers (a limitation that was only implemented after the game's release). Declaring war allows players to seize control of territories controlled by Companies belonging to opposing factions, allowing them to expand their influence. Players sign up to attack or defend their territory as a result of the massive 50v50 PvP battle for control of the territory that results as a result of this. Prior to entering one of these battles, consider the possibility that New World players could take advantage of an exploit to significantly reduce the strength of their adversary's forces before the battle begins. In the process, it would make war and territorial control completely insignificant, which is exactly what is happening right now. KollotheCoinMan, a Reddit user who goes by the name of KollotheCoinMan, posted information about how they and their company were exploiting a flaw in in order to gain additional territory. This was around five days ago. In his subsequent post, the Reddit user explained that he and his company had carried out a sham investigation into competitors who had been reporting them for fictitious reasons. This was accomplished through what appeared to be an automated system, and it only took a small number of these reports to result in the opponent's suspension. As a result, KollotheCoinMan asserted that his Company had taken advantage of the mass-reporting exploit to ban Company leaders controlling territories multiple times before claiming ownership of the disputed territories. Whatever happens, Amazon has been made aware of the situation, at the very least, and will respond accordingly. A solution, it appears for the time being, will be impossible to achieve. In response to the widespread use of the exploit, official responses have stated both that New World has automated bans and that it does not. This is despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Furthermore, users who have been banned claim that their appeals to have their bans lifted are met with an automated response that denies them the right to return to the site in the future. Growing pains are experienced by every MMO, and this is especially true for MMOs that expand at a rate that exceeds the capabilities of their technology and employee population. However, while this is understandable, it does nothing to alleviate the frustration of having to wait for solutions. While Amazon is currently focused on providing free server transfers to customers, there are likely to be available development resources that can begin addressing this exploit as soon as possible -- let alone punishing the exploiters who are taking advantage of the situation -- in the near future. |
