When we say that we would not have had the modern action role-playing games that we have come to enjoy if Diablo had not existed, we aren't exaggerating. Path of Exile, Titan Quest, and Sacred are all titles that have been released. The Diablo formula was copied and tweaked in these and countless other games, with small additions and changes here and there while maintaining the fundamental framework of Blizzard's seminal adventure. Even if this is your first foray into the Diablo 2 universe, you'll recognize elements from a variety of other games, so don't be discouraged if this is your first foray into it. There's a good chance you've played one or both of the Diablo series' most popular PC role-playing games, which includes Diablo 2 and Diablo 3.
